MORE ABOUT bri
Why did I start CrossFit?
I have always been in competitive sports and coming into adulthood and not having anything to fill the competitiveness left a hole in my life. I found CrossFit after my best friend’s brother invited me to a class at the gym he ran, and I fell in love. At that same time, I was struggling with an autoimmune diagnosis, and CF helped me overcome that and become the healthiest I’ve ever been.
Why did I become a CrossFit coach?
I decided to become a coach after I saw the change it had in my life, and I knew that I wanted to help others experience what I had. Just like most coaches, I just want to help people become the best version of themselves.
Favorite CrossFit Midtown memory?
There are too many to pick from, but the one that sticks out the most is my surprise babyshower and baby WOD’s we’ve done for all the Willey babies. Those memories will never fade, and I’m thankful for the people at CFM who I get to call family.
What do I do in my spare time?
Well, I’m a mom of three so most of my time is spent with them and I wouldn’t change it for anything. But when I can get some time to myself, you can find me taking photos, crafting everything from kids activities to wreaths to screen printing shirts, the occasional WOD (duhhhh), and cooking!
Advice to new CrossFitters?
There really is no glory in Rx, meet the WOD where you are. There is more glory in knowing you moved your body the way it needed to for the day than trying to reach a standard on the board.
Favorite movement to coach?
Proper breathing and anything with a barbell – cleans, squats, deadlift, bench. Lets get heavy, my friends.
Favorite CrossFit movement?
I love me some squats, or deadlifts, or cleans, or you know…anything with a barbell.
