Welcome to Atlanta's School of Elite Fitness, where we've been building a healthier Midtown, one student at a time, since 2012.

You’ll develop new skills and learn something in every class. It will be a challenge, but the reward is high for those willing to put in the work.
All CrossFit gyms are independently owned and operated, meaning they aren’t all run the same way. We pride ourselves on our highly qualified coaches and welcoming community.

New to CrossFit? Schedule a one-hour Foundation Assessment, and we’ll take you through the basics.

Experienced? CrossFitters with more than 2 years’ experience and / or who have completed the Open are welcome to attend a regular class as your trial. Please contact us to schedule your visit.

We guarantee CrossFit Midtown athletes:

Highly qualified coaches who care about your progress and safety

We have some of the most qualified coaches in Atlanta. Our owner is one of the few CF-L3 coaches in Georgia and more than half our coaches are at least CF-L2 certified. In addition, we have a rigorous 3-month instructor training program that is required of all our coaches before they lead group classes.

You’ll be coached from beginning to end of every class. That includes warm-up, mobility work, strength and skill practice, the daily WOD and cool down. We’ll teach you the safe, proper way to perform each exercise, help you measure and track your progress, and help you accomplish your goals.

A welcoming, healthy, and fun community

Our Community is #cfmstrong. When you’re motivated to make healthy changes in your life, surrounding yourself with people who have similar goals helps you reach those goals. Our group classes mix a spirit of teamwork, accountability, and camaraderie into each class. You can’t find a better, more supportive atmosphere for living a healthy lifestyle. Our small space and Saturday Partner workouts encourage fast and lasting friendships. We also like to have fun outside the gym, with regular social outings and movie premieres.

Effective and scalable programming

We offer effective workout programming. Our training program is customized for our students with built-in cycles to work on specific movements and muscle groups. We’ll do a combination of training, along with occasional testing so you can see your progress. You’ll learn the difference between pushing to your absolute limits when testing and finding your sustainable pace/effort level during classes.

We have a separate Barbell Club to help you master the Olympic lifts and host seminars and workshops to complement our regular programming by building other skills.

Our Team

"There was an idea...to bring together a group of remarkable people."

Most of our coaches come from within the CFM community. They are long-term members who enjoy working out, spending time with people at the gym, and helping others get fit and feel great about themselves. Not only do they complete the CrossFit certification training, CFM requires even more. All new coaches complete a 3-month Instructor Training Program (ITP) and must pass a coaching assessment before they are ready and able to coach classes on their own. This program exposes the new coaches to all aspects of coaching through assistant coaching, writing warm-ups, and programming some workouts. Because of this, we have some of the most qualified and dedicated coaches in Atlanta. You can rest assured that coaching quality and safety for every member during every class are our top priorities.

What is crossfit?

CrossFit is the sport of fitness. We use constantly-varied, high intensity, functional movements to get you into amazing shape!

CrossFit is about pushing yourself to give your best every day. The exact workout will vary from student to student, as we will scale the movements and load based on your ability level. But everyone has to push themselves to earn results.

The training sessions incorporate gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, kettlebells, plyometrics, running, rowing, jumping rope and more – all with a focus of making you a stronger, more well-rounded athlete.

Our program will train you for improvement in each of ten fitness domains.

Whether you’re training for a sport, a hike up Kilimanjaro, an adventure race, or just want to make carrying groceries, playing with your kids, or climbing stairs easier, CrossFit will prepare you for the “unknown and unknowable” aspects of life.

10 Fitness Domains

  1. Cardio-respiratory endurance
  2. Stamina
  3. Strength
  4. Flexibility
  5. Power
  6. Speed
  7. Coordination
  8. Agility
  9. Balance
  10. Accuracy

CFM rules

Respect the equipment.

  • “What’s the first rule of kettlebells?” Never drop the kettlebells. The same applies for dumbbells.
  • Don’t drop barbells loaded only with plates lower than 25#.
  • Clean and put equipment back when class is over and everyone has finished the WOD. Don’t clean up early!

Respect each other.

  • Be on time. Our classes are small, and our reservations mean something. If you can’t make it, please cancel one hour before class time. If the class is nearly full, and you cancel with less than one hour before class or do not show up within 10 minutes of start time, you will be charged $10.
  • Introduce yourself to new people – drop-ins or new members.
  • Practice good hygiene. Wear deodorant. Wash your clothes.
  • If you’re sick, please stay home.

Respect yourself.

  • Be POSITIVE with your words and with your thoughts. We’re training mentally as much as physically.
  • Give 100% every time you come to class. This will differ from day to day. We’re only asking for YOUR BEST TODAY.
  • Train with integrity. Always practice full range of motion and don’t count half-reps.
  • Check your ego. Everyone has different skill sets and backgrounds – don’t compare your abilities with others in class.

CFM FAQs

CrossFit Basics

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity (intensity being relative to your current level of fitness). It is also infinitely scalable!

CrossFit is the sport of fitness. Anyone with the right attitude can do it.

What is a School of Elite Fitness?

This is not just another workout. It’s a learning environment. We’re training our bodies and minds to become stronger with every workout. We challenge you to work outside your comfort zone and practice new skills. But it will take exactly that: PRACTICE. You won’t be amazing at this right away, and that’s okay. This is your journey toward elite fitness. We teach athletes of all skill levels in classes that include elements of functional exercise, athletic conditioning, plyometrics, gymnastics, kettlebell and medicine ball training, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, rowing, running and jumping rope. Our students come from all walks of life, in different shapes and sizes, with various experience levels. We can teach anyone with the right attitude!

What is a WOD?

WOD stands for Workout Of the Day. Pronounced WAD, it’s the name given to the workout that every class on a given day will perform. So whether you train with us at 6am or 6pm, you’ll do the same WOD. You’ll soon learn that CrossFit has plenty of acronyms. We’ll explain as you go!

Do I have to be in good shape before I start?

No! Anyone with the right attitude can do CrossFit. We scale down the workouts for those who are new to CrossFit, and gradually increase your load and intensity as your strength, ability, and fitness levels improve. Whether you’re getting back into shape, have never been in shape, or are recovering from injury, surgery, after giving birth, etc., we can adjust the training sessions to your needs. We also offer personal training if you need some additional individual attention before joining group classes.

What is a class like?

At CrossFit Midtown, every class is different, but they’re all led by an experienced, CrossFit-certified coach. Our classes are intense, challenging, and FUN. Much smaller than a typical Globo-Gym or boot camp class, our classes are a cross between a group personal training session and a sports team practice. The class setting is a supportive atmosphere where it’s not uncommon to hear cheering, yelling, and encouragement. Classes last one hour and include a dynamic warm-up, mobility, skill and strength work, and a metabolic conditioning workout (that’s fancy talk for intense cardio). After the warm-up, your coach will explain the workout and applicable scaling/modifications. All classes include a review of the movements and their main points of performance. Everyone in our classes gets an amazing workout. You’ll all do the same workout of the day (WOD), but we scale the workout for each student depending on your abilities. Sometimes we time the WODs, to create some friendly competition and so you can measure your progress. You might be a little tired or sore after class, but you’ll also be stronger, smiling, and feeling better than when you came in!

Can I workout anytime?

Not exactly. Check our class schedule to choose a class that’s right for you.

Do you offer discounts?

We give a discount to military, police, firefighters, first responders and teachers. Thank you for your service. We also offer undergraduate student and family discounts.

Can you help with Nutrition?

YES! We have coaches experienced in helping clients with paleo & primal nutrition, food choices and retraining your past eating habits. When you’re ready to improve the way you eat, we’re here to help.

What is a Foundation Assessment?

We don’t offer an Elements or On-Ramp group class. We start with a Foundation Assessment then move into a Foundations series because it takes multiple sessions to properly learn all the CrossFit movements. Our Foundation series includes 9 one-on-one sessions and 3 group classes. In a 1-on-1 session we can devote time to learning the gymnastics and weightlifting movements and work at your individual level. Once in the group class we limit class sizes so the coach has the time and attention to devote to each athlete, regardless of their skill level and experience, so each athlete can continue to learn and progress after the Foundation. That’s great for anyone who wants to join CFM and make sure they are fully prepared and ready for the group classes when they graduate Foundations. Call us at 678.223.3308 or email us at info@crossfitmidtown.com to schedule your 1-on-1 Foundation Assessment.

Do I have to do a Foundation Assessment if I've done CrossFit before?

Maybe! If you have more than 2 years CrossFit experience and have completed the Open, we’ll send you details to register for your trial class. You can attend any regular class that’s convenient for you. Afterward, we’ll discuss your membership options and get you started. Trial classes cost $25 and you must reserve in advance.

I'm in great shape, but haven't done CrossFit. Do I still need to do a Foundation Assessment?

Yep, the Foundation Assessment is required for anyone new to CrossFit who wishes to join CrossFit Midtown. We operate differently from other gyms, so this orientation session is your chance to see how we work, get a taste of our training and a glimpse into the CFM community. AND you’ll get to do a full-on CrossFit WOD as well. So if you’re in super shape, you’ll get to WOW us with your performance.

Dropping In

What is your drop-in policy?

CrossFit Midtown welcomes visiting CrossFitters. Just email us to let us know when you’re coming (date & class time), how long you’ve been doing CrossFit, and where you currently do CrossFit. The drop-in fee is $25 paid in advance online. At the door the drop-in fee is $30.

I'm visiting Atlanta and want to try CrossFit. Can I drop-in to try a class?

No. CrossFit Midtown classes are open to CFM members and visiting CrossFitters only.

Do you offer refunds for drop-ins?

We do not do refunds for drop-ins with less than 24 hours notice due to the volume of drop-ins and size of our classes. There is no refund or exchange for a “no show” or if cancelled less than 1 hour before the start of class. If you know that you will not be able to attend a drop-in, let us know in advance and we can apply the payment to a future drop-in or reschedule your class.
